Time off is a touchy subject for many people. In a lot of areas everyone went to college and nobody knows why, but the place is better for it in the long run, hopefully. This means lots of people dont have a lot of time off, the weekends are spent doing continuing education, brushing up on skill sets, laying on the couch after being exhausted all week, or getting ready for Monday.
When people finally work their personal time into a work/life schedule, it can be a little hard to come up with something to do. Classics are always nice like dinner and a movie, or movie and snacks in the living room. Theme parks and concerts may seem like a lot of work at first. What do you wear after all that time?
Salish presents some themes from her own life, like jumping over weight bags, breaking blocks of ice, or playing musical chairs. Not necessarily in that order. While some of the activities seem unrealistic, think about this. Thirty years ago there were movie theaters, city parks, and a few malls. Today there is indoor rock climbing, pools, all kinds of water activities at ocean or lakes, concerts and events at all price levels, and things like paintball, laser tags, or specialty gyms that teach things like parkour, gymnastics, or weird calisthenics. Arcades are popular, many arcades have a good mixture of adults and kids or mostly one or the other during certain hours.
People also find things to do which seems unreasonable at first but can end up being quite fun. Like buying a giant block of ice and seeing how hard it is to break. There are activities that seem a little more reasonable or require less effort. People still rub balloons on their head and Salish demonstrates another balloon game that is kind of fun to play. There is also the concept of one on one sports. Even though some areas may seem dark and scary, human safety is a big them in modern development. Often, if a court or field is open, its ok to grab a ball and have some fun for 45 to 60 minutes, which is the average time for 1 weekend activity.
