Salish went to a local university to spend the day there. She visited a dorm room with two roommates and the cafeteria. She also explained that she wanted to major in business. Her potential roommates pointed out her skin care line. Obviously having a degree can help with running her business.

The university had a basketball stadium and she stopped by to watch a game. She also walked around campus. During her visit, she explored the courtyard and walked through the hallways. She sat in on class and listened to the professor. She somehow still had time to vlog during her visit.

The event is interesting because college is no longer viewed as important to people under 50. This includes people 20 to 50. A lot of people retire at 35 or younger. Others live with family and only work part-time throughout their lives. Despite this, people still go to college. It has a big interest.

Salish is 16 and already exploring college which adds another conversation to the video. People in the United States can begin working at 14, and get paid through payroll. Before that, its mostly cash done through chores. They can work up to 12 hours per week. This is viewed as more important than school to many families. However, college is becoming more accessible and encouraged as a lifelong program.

Even if school is viewed as a pass time for many people, it has many purposes. For some they are working through learning disabilities. They may not have been able to find a job in high school. Others are there to make friends or network. Another group of people are there for what is considered a form of job training.

Most people attend college for a combination of reasons. They may want to live on their own, or away from their parents. They may be interested in obtaining access to credit. For some students its traditional to have a degree. Others attend school and take random classes until its finally time to go find a job.

The campus dorm room is also interesting. Most people inquiring about living on campus expect their own room. Many colleges now have 2 person dorm rooms and few colleges have 1 person dorm rooms. A lot of people attend online and drive to campus for labs, events, in person lectures, and group activities.

This is interesting for people that traditionally attend on campus. Normally, they would go to class and can do their homework offline. Most colleges now have an online system to submit homework. They make some accomodation for those without a computer. This is another interesting topic, that is devating from the video.

With Salish being 16, there is a big question to ask. What will she do at 20 years old with a bachelor degree? Traditionally, many people are still exploring college at that age. Lately, people can complete high school at 15/16 and enroll in college or job training. We'll have to wait and see what she reveals over the next few years. It will be interesting to see if she streams from the college.
