Salish explored several different job roles on her video profile today. One of the jobs was Janitor. It's a job that many people find fun and entertaining even if others find it a necessary responsibility that is neither fun nor exciting.
A health concept that was explored was eating off the floor. Its a metaphor that the floor or counters are clean enough to eat off of. Bacteria colonies are often reduced with floor cleaning but they make their way back to their normal habitat. Floors also have debris from underneath the feet. There is no way to actually clean a floor but there are various ways to make it less dirty.
Its not recommended to ever eat food that has fallen on the floor, pick it up and throw it away. The bacteria transfer is immediately.
Health worker was another concept that was explored. A lot of workplaces are distributed and have a flat hierarchy. This means no one is in charge of other workers. There is no "authority" that tells everyone what to do. Policies are followed that everyone agreed on. This may include an agreement to notify a person who is more knowledgeable when something goes wrong so they can discuss a new policy to vote on.
Hierarchies are seen as suffocating in most workplaces and this removal of hierarchies began in 2009/2010. Most workers respect skill and policy.
There were a few other job roles and the big concept was changing jobs. Not very many people are going to stay in one job for even 10 years. Not even for attorney, business owner, doctor, or scientist. While people may return to similar jobs over a 45 year work period, 40 to 85 or even 16 to 85, they are unlikely to for example be an attorney from 25 to 70 going to the same courtroom daily to win a new case.
This is weird to a lot of people, so people that have to stay in a job for 10 years or more are nominated and they are usually more responsible and focused. Everyone else gets to switch jobs more often and eventually, the nominated workers get to switch jobs too. If they want to, and if there is work available somewhere else.
