Today there was a tour of three different places to a host a birthday party. The options were water park, theme park, or adventure park. Its going to be a 16th birthday for Salish, and she has never celebrated a birthday before. At least, according to Jordan. The birthday is special because its a big day in America when someone turns 16 years old.
In her home state, its uncertain if she would be considered and adult or a child. They want people to graduate high school and search for their first job at the age of 25. They are almost positive that laws are moving in the right direction and soon, they will petition the people to allow all adult activities, no sooner than a day after the 25th birthday. This will bring innovation, in human aging and it seems at least some people are looking forward to it.
In other parts of the U.S. kids start preparing for adulthood at the age of 14, they can work, drive, miss school, and own tools for their own self defense. The 16th birthday is a big deal because the kids already have at least two years experience in being an adult, including a debit card. This is the age when they can apply for their own apartment, especially if they have savings and are done with high school.
Salish is going to private school and she likes hanging out with her friends. She wants to go to college to study. She told her dad that she does not really want a big birthday party, but she does want to hang out with her friends. The decision will be in two weeks on what Salish gets to do for her Birthday.
She is considered really lucky, because she got to tour the parks with nobody else there which is really fun. People can sometimes visit places with a visitor lockout and not too many people know how this happens. She may decide to stay home and watch t.v. with her friends. Her dad may convince her to have the party. We'll find out, two weeks from now, what she decides to do on her birthday.
